How It All Began...

One of the owners of Zelcovia Cookies has been baking decadent Chocolate Chip cookies for the past 18 years. Some of you may remember being able to buy them at Cocktails and Dreams Catering in Richmond Hill. After selling Cocktails and Dreams Catering after an accident, one would have thought that was the end of that. Then two things happened.

One of the customers at Cocktails & Dreams, Marcy Zajdeman missed those cookies so much that she tracked down the Owner of Cocktails and Dreams, through a friend of a friend a few years ago and called him personally at home to ask him if she could purchase a long stemmed bouquet for a friend of hers.

He said no, but then thought about it, and realized that now that we have the internet, this could be a viable business. Within two months, the very first website (Crude as it was) (click for a look at our very first website built in 2003) was created, and Zelcoviacookies.com was born. (No we never ended up making her a bouquet for that friend of hers)

The other interesting occurrence was the fact that one of the owners of Zelcovia Cookies, who also owns Computers Solutions Networks Inc., was attempting to prove that Google works as a means of advertising. They built a mini Cookie Website and put the person's telephone number on it, and configured it with Google. The next day they received many calls of people ordering cookies. The client asked them to stop, the test was successful and it also proved there was room for a Cookie Company.

As we now approach our 10th Year in business this November 2013, we look back on some incredible advances in technology we have made. We have developed a web order system so advanced we had to build it ourselves. We listened over the years as our customers made suggestions and we made them happen. We have spent tens of thousands of dollars on our technology and continue to make new changes all for the ease of use of our clients. As many advances we have made in the technology that allows us to run the company, we still use the same technique to make our cookies and that has not and will never change. We owe Marcy a debt of gratitude, if it was not for her, everyone would not be enjoying these amazing chocolate chip cookies. We promised her that when people ask us how it all got started that we would tell the story, and we keep her picture on the wall in my office as a reminder of how it all began.

Zelcovia's Cookies and its predecessor Cocktails & Dreams Catering have produced into the millions of cookies over the years and now we are so excited to continue to offer our very own label for you to enjoy.
